Our Commitment to Children’s Eye Health & Education
What is Eye HERO?
The Eye HERO Programme is Alpro OptiSaver’s nationwide Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, dedicated to protecting children’s vision. Running from June 2025 to June 2026, it aims to provide free eye screenings and education to 15,000 children annually, focusing on ages 4–9 years old across all types of schools in Malaysia—government (SK), vernacular (SJKC, SJKT), and private institutions.
This programme is fully funded by Alpro OptiSaver, with no product promotions or sales involved, ensuring that it remains purely educational and health-focused.
Programme Highlights
Free Eye Screenings Quick 10–15 second checks using advanced portable devices to detect risk of having amblyopia (lazy eye), strabismus (eye misalignment), and refractive errors (myopia, hyperopia).
Eye Health EduTalks Interactive 15-minute talks by certified optometrists on topics such as: lazy eye awareness, healthy gadget use (20-20-20 rule), and visual hygiene practices.
Student Activities Eye health “Report Cards,” fun coloring contests, Eye HERO songs & cheers, and certificates of participation (in collaboration with Alpro Academy).
Support for Teachers & Parents Classroom posters, RM20 eyewear vouchers for teachers, and school reports summarizing screening results, risk levels, and recommendations.

The programme has already been successfully piloted in 14 schools across Negeri Sembilan and Pahang. With nationwide expansion, Alpro OptiSaver aims to collaborate with the Ministry of Education to make Eye HERO a cornerstone of school health programmes.
